The New Story of Scotland: Touchlab Robotics
Making complex innovation human
For this episode of The New Story of Scotland, I visited Touchlab Robotics to explore how a Scottish company is developing technology that allows robots to experience a sense of touch.
The film brings together the different parts of my work: researching a complex subject, presenting on location, interviewing founders and technical experts, and helping an audience understand not only how an innovation works, but why it matters.
Beyond the technology
The most interesting innovation stories are rarely only about the technology.
They are about the people taking risks, the problems they are trying to solve and the wider change their work could make possible.
My role is to find that human story, ask the questions that draw it out and make complex ideas clear without losing their substance.
